Sometimes, I’m embarrassed when people come to our home - an old single wide with wood paneling and chipped paint.
Sometimes, I’m embarrassed when people ask me what I do. “Stay at home mom who helps on the ranch as needed” doesn’t come out as confidently as “teacher” or “ranch hand” used to.
Sometimes, when I look at others my age, I feel overwhelmed with where Tom and I could have been in life if we hadn’t moved back to the ranch.
But here’s the thing, when I don’t pay attention to what others are doing, I’m so incredibly happy with this life we’ve built.
Living in this trailer house has allowed us to become debt free and save up for the home we will build someday.
Being home with my daughter has made me the happiest I’ve ever been.
Living here, on this ranch, has given me opportunities and experiences most people will only ever dream about.
How your life feels is more important than how it looks.
When I start comparing, I like to ask myself, “If I had no idea what anyone else was doing, would I be happy?” and the answer is almost always YES.
How does your life feel right now?
