Simple, tasty, banana bread, from the ranch to you!
Ingredients
-
1/2 cup butter
-
1 cup brown sugar
-
1 egg
-
4 ripe bananas
-
1 tsp vanilla
-
2 cups flour
-
1 tsp baking powder
-
1/2 tsp baking soda
-
1/4 tsp salt
-
1/2 cup each chocolate chips and walnuts (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Farenheit.
Grease two 8X4 loaf pans. I prefer real butter for this, but you can also use Pam or another spray oil. Make sure to get the corners really well!
Cream butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla on high speed in an electric mixer.
Add bananas. Batter will be slightly lumpy.
Slowly add in dry ingredients. Mix until just blended.
Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts (optional).
Bake for 55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center of the loaves.
Remove from oven and let them cool for 20-30 minutes before removing from pans.
Slice and enjoy! We like ours with butter and a big glass of milk.
Recipe Note
Feel free to omit the walnuts and chocolate chips or use 1 full cup of one or the other in your recipe! You can also make this one large loaf in a 9X5 loaf pan. Cook time will be longer, but continue to check with a tooth pick.
